Today's Message: Forget Not Your Roots

Dear Friends,
Whether or not the Broncos won yesterday, God always wins! Aren’t you glad to be rooting for the winning team? Are you on the winning team? Even if it doesn’t feel like it, if you are believing and walking by faith in God to take care of you and lead you, you are on the winning team!
I am excited about what can be done this year. Thank you to all who work so willingly. The Men’s Bible Study has been scheduled for every other week after Wednesday service starting this Wednesday night. We will start by meeting at Village Inn in Belmar area at 7:30 P.M.
Our Church Revival is going to be in the first part of April after Easter with Richard McKenzie, pastor in Reedy, WV. I am looking forward it.

On a spiritual note, I will be speaking on the danger of forgetting. What a grave danger it is for us to not understand God’s movings throughout the centuries and the wisdom they hold for us in this day. It is not enough for us to look forward, but also to look back. When Israel was to cross Jordan into Canaan, God had commanded through Moses and Joshua that they were to put up great stones and write the law upon them. This served as a reminder to what God had done and what God wanted them to remember. We are doubly blessed and guaranteed balance in our thinking if we know where God’s church has been with all its successes and failures. I hope the message blesses you this morning.

Preacher’s meeting for the Pilgrim Nazarene Church will be February 20th – 22nd In Pell City, AL. Ministers gather together for a time of worship, instruction and fellowship. These times have proven to be a life-line for many over the years. Pastor Mike would like to attend. The church has always supported the pastor’s trip to preacher’s meeting.

The youth group will be meeting on Thursday this week@ 7:00pm in the Yancey's basement. We will be studying the Gospel of John, chapter 1 and verse 1! Come prepared.

There will be a potluck dinner after this morning’s service at the parsonage. All are welcome to join us for a time of food and fellowship. There will be no evening service.

Planning your calendar for 2013? Write it down and block out time in for our spring revival. It will be right after Easter in April with Rev. Richard Mckenzie from Reedy, WV
