Prayer is Needed

1Th 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”  If there is anything we need and need to know is the place and power of prayer for each other. This great apostle, Paul, was a man who continually asked the churches to pray for him.  E.M. Bounds says, “Paul had no need more pressing than his need of prayer. He claimed prayer was the greatest factor behind the success of his work. Thus the most powerful and far-reaching energy, in Paul’s estimation, was prayer.”    Paul’s faith was often tested and he was comforted by his confidence that God would always deliver and strengthen him, especially in response to prayer.
II Corinthians 1:8 in the New Living Translation reads thus: “We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9.In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10.And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. 11.And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety.”

Afresh and anew it has occurred to me that we need to pray for each other, as the Lord brings us to each other’s mind. May the Lord help us to become stronger as we develop the web of prayer, that invisible network that binds us and brings God to bear in a powerful way on each of our lives.

Bro. Snodgrass and Bro. Truitt are preparing to return to India to minister to the dear brethren there. They will be filling extra suitcases with special gifts for the orphans, widows and pastors. This is our opportunity to be HELPERS. A small donation for this effort is appreciated. Mark your donation as “India Box Work”. Thank you for supporting this mission ministry.

There are some church Christmas decorations that are no longer being used. You are welcome to them if you like. They are in the balcony.
