Strength Through Prayer

Ephesians 6:10- be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might18 praying at all times in the Spirit… with all perseverance…
The phrase, “at all times” has its roots in an original Greek word which meant, “when things come to a head”, or “at the right moment”.
You know what “perseverance” means! Never give up.

David in Psalm 27: 1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation”  (my direction and protection),  “the strength of my life” (my inspiration). In verse 14 he says, “Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart…”
Both David and Paul referred to the strength of the Lord, and both indicated that His Strength was found through prayer.
In another place (Eph 3:20) Paul says, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us..”

If you are weak, there is one answer. Read all of Psalms 27- the secret is there. If you need strength to go on, need courage to stand, need hope to know it will all turn out all right. If you need God to do what you cannot do, develop the art of prayer.

Adoniram Judson said, “the reason God loves prayer is that He knows it is a necessary preparation for our receiving the richest blessings that He is waiting and longing to bestow. I never prayed sincerely and earnestly for anything but it came at some time. No matter at how distant a day, somehow in some shape, probably the last I would have devised, it came.”
