Special Music: He Lesds Me

Today's Message:Joseph, A Fruitful Vine

The Devil is Defeated

Gen 3:15  “And I will put enmity between thee (serpent) and the shall bruise thy head; thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Snakes do not rule us. We rule snakes. They can hurt us and kill us, but generally speaking they are subservient to man. We on the other hand, can, at will, kill snakes. We rule. This is true literally and is used by God as a parable. The serpent strikes at the heel of man. This causes pain spiritually, emotionally, and physically, but is not a spiritually mortal wound. He strikes at things in our lives that cause us misery, but not necessarily ultimate defeat. We, conversely, can, through Christ, with His power, destroy the head of Satan. This means his ultimate designs, his long range plans, his devious goals for spiritual death.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? (Figuratively, poison) O grave, where is thy victory?
2Co 4:7-10 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.  (8)  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; (10)  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus (his suffering), that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
