Special: Congregation: Amazing Grace

Pastor Mike Yancey

He is the true source

Dear Friends,

It is a joy and exciting privilege to be back with you. Our trip was long, God’s presence in the revival services was real, and souls were born into the kingdom. He still moves the mountains of sin off people’s hearts and drinks up the fog over their souls with the warm rays of His smiling face.
I am thankful to Jerry Esparza for substituting for me in my absence, and understand that he did a great job.
I have been trying to get back into the traces since we arrived Wednesday evening. I understand that Ryan Watts is sick with headaches from his recent accident. Also, Bro. Croy has been missing due to his continued long recovery from his fall. Let’s pray for these gentlemen.
A big thank you to those of you who participate so faithfully in the pot-luck dinners.  Looking forward to seeing you.
This week I was struck by something powerful…how important God moving in our hearts and church is.
John 5:5 says “I am the vine; you are the branches… apart from me you can do nothing.” He didn’t mean, “you can help a little bit, and I will make up the difference”. He meant, “If I am not there and working through you, nothing will be accomplished. You are wasting your time!”

“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible” – Mark 10:27

Reports from India...Bro. Truitt and Bro. Snodgrass have preached in 10 churches, held Steve Harbison Memorial Church dedication, conducted 4 sessions with 56 pastors, prayed in many homes, dedicated the foundation of a future church and touched hundreds of people. They held the first VBS session with the orphans. Thanks for all of your prayers. They can feel the hand of God helping them.

There will be a potluck dinner after this morning’s service at the parsonage. All are welcome to join us for a time of food and fellowship. There will be a short service following dinner. There will be no evening service.

Revival, a time of spiritual refreshment is schedule for the week of April 9th through the 15th with Rev. Larry Pettit. Rev. Pettit pastor’s the Pilgrim Nazarene Church in Davenport, Iowa.
