SPECIAL: Mike and Gina Yancey

"It Will Be Worth it All"

Pastor Mike Yancey

Hebrews 11:15 If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.
Desire is everything, the fire that fuels our efforts, the compass that guides our destiny, the hammer and chisel that shapes our character.
“Desire is from a Greek word, orego which meant to stretch forth, reach toward. It denotes the longing, craving, urge, burning desire, or yearning ambition to achieve something or to become something. It portrays a person so fixed on the object of his desire that his whole being is stretched forward to take hold of that goal or object. Not someone who just thinks, but is determined to become something! He has put his whole heart into it, and won’t take no for an answer. He will do whatever is required; he will change anything in his character that needs to be changed and do anything he must do to achieve his goal.” Rick Renner
I challenge you to read Hebrews 11 and contemplate what those people did due to holy desire.
I then want you to think about your desire and ask yourself if your desire is powerful enough to overcome the obstacles in your heart and life to make you a true saint?

17 “By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac”
“Hindrances, obstacles will come up against you that will make you want to back up and back out of your commitments.”
Your lack or presence of holy desire will be the deciding factor.

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.” Psalm 27:4

Youth camp will be from June 11th -15th in Fulton, MO. The Esparza’s will be going. They plan on meeting their kids there.

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Ida Taylor, Regina’s Grandma. She was a saint of God and a very kind and sweet lady. She and her husband served many years in the ministry. She will be missed by her family and friends.
