Holy Character

I am preaching today on the beauty of Holy character contrasted with the beauty of the world, lasting versus temporal, shallow versus deep. I am also focusing on what it takes to bring forth this kind of beauty in our lives. The Scriptures are clear:
1Pe 3:3-4 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;  (4)  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Our focus is on something on the inside. Anybody caught up with external flash and beauty is doing so at the expense of focusing on true beauty.
This kind of beauty takes commitment, the kind of commitment it takes to grow a rose bush or plant a fruit tree. The blooms and fruit are not an accident. Only through a change of heart by God and disciplined, holy efforts will you ever grow, put down roots, and bloom and bear fruit the way God intends for you. Hope you are inspired and challenged in this message. Your lack or presence of holy desire will be the deciding factor.

FROM THE WORD:

“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.” – Luke 6:45
