Today's Sermon: Ye Cannot Server The Lord Your God

Today's Special: Too Much To Gain To Lose

Madame Guyon- If knowing answers to life’s questions is absolutely necessary to you, then forget the journey.  You will never make it, for this is a journey of unknowables-unanswered questions, enigmas, incomprehensibles, and most of all, things unfair.
George Everett Ross- I have served in the ministry thirty years, almost thirty one.  I have come to understand that there are two kinds of faith.  One says, “if”, and the other says, “though.”  One says” “if everything goes well, if my life is prosperous, if I’m happy, if no one I love dies, if I’m successful, then I will believe in God and say my prayers and go to the church and give what I can afford.” The other says “though; though the cause of evil prosper, though I sweat in Gethsemane, though I must drink my cup at Calvary- nevertheless, precisely then, I will trust the Lord who made me.” So Job cries: “Though he slay me, yet will I trust Him.

Thank you to all who had a part in a great project called the Vacation Bible School. We had a good time in the Lord and enjoyed being with the children. We pray that the number of youth will increase from this effort. Thank you to all who gave so generously in the offering for it. Thank you to Sis. Edith for all her great effort which was exhausting, and still is, in the clean up phase.

Summer is coming to a close and school is ready to start. For some, it has already begun. The Esparza family will be saying good-bye to Jenae for another school year. She leaves for Hobe Sound, FL this week. Alex will be helping her drive down. They would appreciate your prayers for safe travels and no car problems.
