Today's Sermon: - Mike Yancey

John 4: 29 “He told me all that ever I did.”
There is One who knows you better than you know yourself. He remembers what you have forgotten. No sin is unnoticed by God. How would you like it if He told you everything you did wrong? This is what He did to the woman at the well. She already knew what she had done, but for some reason Christ telling made a huge difference.
Many who hear the Gospel for the first time are shocked at the knowledge of preacher when he doesn’t know them. It is because the Word of God addresses the human heart in a very authoritative and accurate way.
Isaiah 53:4 “Surely he hath borne our grief and carried our sorrows.” 11 By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
No one is more acutely aware of what you have done wrong than Christ, because He took your punishment for you. No one is more ready to forgive you and give you a new life, because he died that you may live.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
-Phil. 1:21

What does it mean to really live? As we breathe in the air around us and our hearts continue to circulate the blood through our veins, we claim that we still live. But what does it mean to have meaning in life? For what purpose does life have, as we wake up in the morning and lay our head to rest at night.  Each day is filled with anticipation for a Christian who lives to make Christ the center of their life. For if He is our all in all, then we breathe His Spirit, we act and react in ways that bring glory to His name. To live is to be part of the living body of Christ. His will is what we desire. His way is the way we want. His love and desires are the things we seek after. There are many things in life we would like to do and have the pleasure of experiencing, but all fade to nothing if Christ is not the center of it all. Let us choose to live for Him and in Him.

“For unto you it is given on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.”
Philippians. 1:29

There will be a pot luck dinner after this morning church service at the parsonage.
