Today's Sermon: - Stick Your Head Out For God- David Yancey

Special: None

Reverend Paul King told the story of a preacher walking down a city street in the dark morning. Another man was calling out, “Paper, paper. Get your morning paper!” The voice and face seemed familiar to him. He approached the grisly faced man and asked if he knew him. The old man looked at him and then quickly away. “No, I do not know you!” and he walked off. The preacher followed him and said, “You look familiar, are you sure?” “No, I do not know you!” And again walked on. The third time the preacher followed and said, “I am sure I know you, but I don’t know from where.” The man finally turned and said, “Yes you know me. I worked with you in a camp meeting.”
The minister said, “it all came back to me. I remembered his face and voice.”
“What has happened to you?”
“Preacher, it all came little by little. I started slacking off in my prayer life, then other things little by little. I dried up, and a storm came in my life, and swept me away. Now I am on the street, no longer preaching.”
“He turned and walked away, and I stood there watching him in his filthy garb, scuffed shoes, smelly body, and unwashed face. My mind went back to hearing that same voice preaching from holiness pulpits on camp meeting platforms, that same voice now pressing through the streets, calling, ‘Paper, Paper, come get your morning paper.”

Dear Church,

I am gone this Sunday and will return next Sunday. My cell phone # is 720-289-5956 if you need me. I will be in Muncie, Indiana for a revival, Thank you to all of you who are so faithful and help carry the load. We truly have become a family that looks out for each other. Please pray for the speaker. We will just have the one service on Sunday morning. Please pray for me as I preach all next week.

We are ordering a special book from Joe Taylor’s Gospel Publishing Mission called “Is God Really My Father?”  This appears to be an excellent tool for personal evangelism. I will let you know when it arrives. – Pastor Mike
